Sr. IT Support Specialist (1179)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical support, data analytics, and automation skills. This role is essential for providing advanced support to our users, managing complex network issues, and enhancing our data reporting capabilities through Power BI and SQL. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for automating manual processes, managing user roles and permissions, and utilizing Microsoft Teams, Project, and SharePoint.

 

Key Responsibilities:

IT  Support

  • Provide advanced technical support to users via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  • Set up and configure VPNs for remote access.
  • Support and manage Office 365 applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Assist with IT asset management, inventory tracking, and procurement.
  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise software applications.
  • Ensure software applications are up-to-date and running efficiently.
  • Manage and support Microsoft Teams for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Utilize Microsoft Project for project management and tracking.
  • Administer and maintain SharePoint sites for efficient document management and collaboration.
  • Apply programming knowledge for troubleshooting, minor development tasks, and automation.
  • Utilize scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for advanced task automation
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and user guides.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users on new technologies and software applications.
  • Identify and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Utilize tools such as Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) or similar for advanced automation tasks.
  • Set up and manage user roles and permissions within various systems and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and maintenance, including configuration and performance monitoring.
  •  Assist with network security implementations and best practices.

Data Analytics:

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights.
  • Write and optimize complex DAX queries for data analysis.
  • Manage, query, and maintain databases using SQL.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  •  6+ years of experience in an IT support role. And experience with Power BI, DAX, and SQL.
  • Experience with process automation tools and scripting.
  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft Teams, Project, and SharePoint.

 

Technical Skills:

  •  Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Power BI and Excel.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and scripting.
  • knowledge of VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain complex software applications.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud services like Azure or AWS. –
  •  Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
