  • Strong understanding of:
    • Additive manufacturing processes (FDM, SLA, SLS, PolyJet)
    • Design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) principles
    • Mechanical design tools (CAD, simulation software)
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 3D printing systems, including Formlabs (SLA/SLS), Stratasys (PolyJet/FDM), and Bambu Lab (FDM) platforms
  • Select appropriate materials (e.g., Nylon 12, photopolymers, engineering thermoplastics) and printing processes based on functional and environmental requirements
  • Develop and execute print strategies, including build orientation, support design, and post-processing workflows (curing, depowdering, finishing)
  • Conduct mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, and performance validation of printed parts
  • Collaborate with robotics and sensing teams to rapidly prototype and iterate designs
  • Maintain detailed documentation of print parameters, material usage, and test results
  • Ensure safe operation of all additive manufacturing equipment in accordance with internal policies and OEM guidelines
  • Identify and mitigate hazards associated with 3D printing, including:
    • Powder handling (e.g., Nylon 12 dust exposure)
    • Resin handling and post-processing chemicals
    • High-temperature components and moving mechanical systems
  • Utilize appropriate PPE (respirators, gloves, eye protection) and engineering controls (ventilation, enclosures)
  • Support development and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all AM equipment
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and contribute to risk assessments for new processes and materials

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized college or university.
