Operational Excellence Specialist (870-3415)

Basic Function

The Operational Excellence Specialist provides strategic leadership in the creation and implementation of continuous improvement projects supporting operational and business excellence objectives for Aramco Performance Materials (APM).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and promote Operational Excellence programs and policies, this includes utilizing industry standard Lean methodologies and change management tools to solve problems and drive improvement changes
  • Lead the coordination and completion of identified projects and serve in a training role
  • Develop, coach and mentor other team members on continuous improvement tools and Lean methodologies to develop other Operational Excellence program leaders
  • Serve as a change agent working collaboratively within and across departments, functions and locations to help implement a culture of continuous improvement
  • Establish quality programs to ensure products meet customer’s quality standards, improve process performance, develop specification and change management system, ensure regulatory compliance, supplier quality and specification management, and drive supplier improvement & optimization
  • Establish and implement phases/gate approach to commercialization of new products into manufacturing, instituting quality, cost and delivery targets, and product accreditation and transfer
  • Assist in creating documentation for commercialization efforts, support the creation of ISO system documentation, product flow documentation, inventory management documentation, and procedural excellence & documentation for all aspects of the manufacturing business including: HSE, vendor selection, quality, process development, new commercialization efforts, planning and scheduling
  • Understand, implement and further develop KPIs and other manufacturing performance measuring systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, Supply Chain, or closely related academic field of study required; Lean Six Sigma/Operational Excellence certification preferred
  • Nine (9) years’ related experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain management or closely related field required; prior experience in an Operational Excellence role with proven results of delivering process improvements and productivity improvements in a manufacturing environment highly desired
  • Must have prior knowledge and understanding of business transformation and continuous improvement strategies and methodologies
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in and lead project teams and efficiently direct the work of others
  • Must have the ability to effectively influence organizational change
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
