Logistics Coordinator (360241)

Basic Function

Candidate will coordinate efficient and compliant packing and export of company materials (with particular focus on hazardous items) and ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods/Trade regulations while optimizing customer services throughout and cost savings.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate efficient and compliant packing and export of hazardous and general cargo
  • Analyze customer/business needs, product restrictions, and destination requirements to implement process improvements which optimize service level, supply chain efficiency, dangerous goods/trade regulation compliance, and cost savings
  • Complete shipment transactions and documentation in ERP (SAP) and other systems as required
  • Maintain spreadsheets/databases to track product throughout and improve service to customers
  • Work with customers and other departments to resolve issues in a timely manner and expedite shipments and ensure dangerous goods/trade compliance
  • Work in a warehouse environment to inspect, pack or otherwise manipulate cargo
  • Perform highly skilled clerical activities requiring a comprehensive knowledge of international material logistics and cargo transportation procedures and regulations
  • Select, accumulate and compile data, records and other information from multiple sources
  • Prepare reports requiring extensive worksheets and data from several diverse sources, combining data into composite reports
  • Verify accuracy of shipping documents and related paperwork and coordinate with vendors to make necessary adjustments
  • Input shipping information and manufacturer's data into SAP to ensure clearance of material through Saudi Customs
  • Review purchase orders for inspection and/or Saudi Aramco requirements and ensure inspection disposition is available when required; identify hazardous materials and ensure required certification is submitted by vendors
  • Advise expeditors and buyers of vendor problems relating to furnishing information or complying with purchase order instructions
  • Employ data quality controls to ensure the error rate in material ready for shipment is kept to a minimum
  • Assist in the training and development of Logistics Clerks assigned to unit
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in the purchasing and traffic field with two (2) years' experience in international traffic required, minimum four (4) years progressive experience in logistics, trade compliance, and/or dangerous goods with minimum two (2) years’ experience in international product movement preferred
  • Basic understanding of regulations governing the classification and transportation of materials (Federal Code of Regulations, OIC, IATA, IMDG DOT)
  • Familiar with import/export compliance requirements, types of materials, hazardous classifications, freight forwarding, air/ocean cargo management, and storage requirements
  • Proficient in SAP or other ERP applications, MS Excel, and capable of effective planning and coordination with 3PL service providers, government agency representatives, vendors, and traffic carriers
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
