Production Planner (870-3412)

Basic Function

Aramco Performance Materials (APM) is a new chemical company leading the way on commercializing innovative technology for the manufacture of large volume polyol products for industrial applications. As part of the startup and growth of the business there is a need to support manufacturing with Planner, Supply Chain and Logistics organizational functions. APM is seeking a leader to develop this organization capability and support the corresponding manufacturing growth. This will initially be tactical support for manufacturing campaigns at tolling sites, including SAP Raw Material Purchase Order functions, logistics and establishing supply lanes. Includes direct contact with suppliers, transporters, warehouse operations, managing inventories and planning tolling schedules and product sequencing to meet Demand Plans.   As production grows, so too will Planning Organization develop, led by the successful candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct demand/supply balancing for APM products; develop, review, and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirement Plan (MRP) for the toll manufacturing sites and communicate changes to all stakeholders
  • Determine and monitor the planning quality of gross requirements and production confirmation, define net requirements, review plans and adjust production schedules, campaigns, capacities, and inventory targets, along with safety stock calculation, all within the scope of the planning process and according to company specifications and requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring that all operational tools (Bills of Material, Project Plans, Production Schedules and Item Creation) are received per designated MPS and MRP
  • Monitor and report any production issues that deviate from schedule (back orders, unplanned production, shutdown, etc.) and carry out assessment for alternative options when possible; investigate root cause and rectify
  • Analyze material usage, projected demand, and determine proper order quantity and delivery schedule to support operational activities
  • Align demands, production capacities and stocks as well as marketing requirements
  • Prepare reporting material for meeting on inventory, forecast demand/supply accuracy, and disposal plan (slow and non-moving materials, aging stock, damaged stock)
  • Coordinate open orders – purchase, sales, and replenishment orders; coordinate the scheduling and delivery of raw materials, and the delivery of products from toll manufacturers to warehouse
  • Keep Supervisor fully informed of production conditions, critical items and other applicable matters
  • Assist in the resolution of materials claims; this routinely involves complex issues and substantial monetary amounts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Material/Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Chemical Engineering, or closely related academic field of study required
  • Four (4) years related experience in production planning, procurement, supply chain management or closely related field
  • A good working knowledge of sources of supply and the suitability of materials
  • Ability to analyze various factors and make sound recommendations and decisions
  • Must exercise good judgement and be alert to shifting conditions in the marketplace
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
