Accounting Staff Analyst (339732)

Basic Function:

Provide accounting expertise for cost accounting and proper treatment for production and sales of chemicals. Responsible for accelerated consolidations and closings on a monthly and quarterly basis; the accelerated closings require additional work for estimates and subsequent true-ups (possibly requiring multiple closings).  Responsible for conducting studies, making recommendations, implementing improvements, monitoring costs and cost control procedures, and providing staff accounting guidance and support to Controller's Division. Will have contact with Aramco Services Company and subsidiary management, internal and external auditors and Aramco Services Company Controller's Management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely record financial transactions in accordance with IFRS standards in SAP FI/CO module
  • Run monthly/quarterly consolidations in the SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) module
  • Respond to increasing new requests from Saudi Aramco for additional schedules required for the monthly/quarterly reporting schedules
  • Respond to additional workload created by new requirements - "charge back" to Saudi Aramco end users their respective costs instead of a single charge to Saudi Aramco Downstream
  • Chemical production inventory management including related invoicing, accounts receivable and raw material, work in process and finished goods tracking
  • Analyze statements, reports and accounts
  • Assist in preparation of accountability reports including analysis of variances and trends
  • Prepare input data, journal entries, reports, statements, and supporting schedules as required by specific job assignment; at times, subject matter is sensitive and/or confidential
  • Review audit reports applicable to Controller's Division, discusses with appropriate personnel, recommends action to be taken and responds to originator
  • Advise supervisor and maintains liaison with appropriate operating and staff personnel regarding problems or unusual situations and provides recommendations for corrective action
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics; MBA or CPA highly desirable
  • Five (5) years diversified experience in corporate and/or public accounting with three years of experience directly related to area of specific job assignment desirable
  • Familiar with SAP FI/CO modules, SAP MM module for inventory movements, SAP BPC module for consolidation and Microsoft Office; BNA Fixed Asset software a plus
  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend English accurately, clearly and concisely at a level required to perform the job as outlined
  • Ability to prepare highly technical reports and memoranda; be able to make oral/visual presentations to all levels of management
  • Basic knowledge of company's organization, policies and operations of Aramco Services Company accounting system preferred
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
